David Craig retrieved this directly from the artist, who was discarding it as "no longer representative of her work." I love this painting for it's deep psychological theme of a young woman's sexual awakening. The main image contrasts the budding young woman and the dead tree--symbolizing the beginning and end of life. On the other side of the image, the girl's sister/mother/alter ego stands anxiously.
